Appliance Removal in Lithonia, GA
Your new refrigerator arrives Thursday and the old one is still in the kitchen. We give you an arrival window you can plan around, carry the heavy stuff out without scraping your floors, and haul it away for proper recycling or disposal.
Moving big appliances out of your house
Appliances are hard to handle. A side-by-side fridge can weigh more than 300 pounds, a chest freezer resists tipping onto a dolly, and old washers often have water left in the drum. Two of our people show up with straps and the right dolly, so you never have to lift.
For this kind of job, timing tends to be the big concern. Callers have a delivery on the calendar, a kitchen remodel starting Monday or a rental walkthrough coming up. We give you an arrival window we can actually keep, and if traffic or an earlier job slows us down, we call before that window ends rather than leave you waiting.
We're licensed and insured, which counts when a crew is working a heavy unit past your door frames, down your stairs and over newly finished floors.
What appliance removal includes
Kitchen appliances
Refrigerators, freezers, ranges, wall ovens, dishwashers, microwaves and trash compactors. If the dishwasher is still under the counter, ask us when you call whether it should be disconnected first.
Laundry and utility units
Washers, dryers, water heaters, dehumidifiers and window or portable air conditioners. We tilt and drain washers before carrying them so water doesn't end up on your floors.
Refrigerant-holding appliances
Fridges, freezers and AC units contain refrigerant that can't simply go to a landfill. We take them to recyclers and facilities that handle refrigerant recovery.
Careful carry-out
We pad corners, use floor runners on the path out and take doors off hinges when that is the safer route. Then we put them back.
Recycling where possible
Most appliances are largely steel, so we sort them toward scrap metal recycling instead of the landfill whenever the facility will take them.
Signs it's time to haul that appliance away
A replacement is on the way
Many delivery crews charge extra to take the old unit, or won't take it at all. Clearing it out the day before makes delivery day simpler.
It costs more to fix than it's worth
A repair estimate that is close to the price of a new unit is usually your answer. Once you've decided, we can take the old one off your hands.
The garage freezer is struggling
Spare freezers and fridges in a hot Georgia garage work hard through the summer and tend to fail first. A dead one just takes up space and can start to smell.
You're remodeling or moving
Contractors want an empty kitchen or laundry room on day one. We can schedule the pickup around the start date your contractor gives you.
It's been sitting outside
An old washer on the porch or a fridge by the shed collects water and pests. Getting it gone cleans up the yard and the view from the street.
How pickup day works
- 1
Call and pick a window
Tell us what's going and where it sits in your home. Same-day and next-day service available. We'll give you an honest arrival window based on our schedule that day.
- 2
Prep the appliance
Unplug and empty fridges and freezers ahead of time and let them defrost so they're dry to carry. Gas ranges and dryers should be disconnected and capped by a qualified person before we arrive.
- 3
Updates if plans change
If an earlier job runs long, we call you with a new time. You won't be left watching the driveway wondering where we are.
- 4
Price confirmed, then carry-out
We look at the item and the path out, confirm the price before we lift anything, then protect the route and remove it.
- 5
Sweep up and haul off
We clean up the dust and debris that's usually hiding behind an old appliance, then take everything to the proper recycler or disposal site.
What goes into an appliance removal price
Pricing is upfront with no hidden fees, so you know the cost before anything gets lifted. It depends on the appliance, how easy it is to get to and where it needs to go. If you want us to look first, the on-site estimate is free and comes with no obligation.
- How big and heavy it is
- Hauling a countertop microwave is nothing like moving a commercial-size chest freezer. Heavier units can need more people and take up more of the truck.
- Stairs and narrow paths
- A water heater in the basement or a washer on the second floor takes more time and care than a garage fridge. Tight hallways and sharp turns add to it.
- Refrigerant and disposal needs
- Anything holding refrigerant must go to a facility that recovers it, and that can change the disposal part of the price.
- Other items on the same trip
- Adding other junk, such as boxes or an old grill, usually makes better use of the same trip and the same truck space.
Appliance removal questions
Something not covered here? (404) 947-5436
Will you disconnect the appliance?
We take care of unplugging and draining. A qualified plumber or electrician should shut off and disconnect gas lines and hardwired units before we get there. Not sure what yours needs? Describe it on the call and we'll let you know.
Where does my old fridge go?
We take it to a facility that removes the refrigerant before the metal gets recycled. Fridges and freezers never go to the landfill with refrigerant still in them.
Will you haul a fridge that still has food in it?
Please clear it out beforehand. Food goes bad fast in the truck, and some recycling sites will turn the unit away. Letting it defrost the night before also keeps your floors dry.
How do I know when the crew will get there?
You get an arrival window when you book, and we call if anything shifts. If we fall behind, we let you know before the window is over.
Who comes into my house?
People from our own crew, and the company is enrolled in E-Verify. Customers have posted over 1,200 Google reviews, which show how other pickups went.
